Ashfaq Syed has been Appointed as President of Naperville Public Library Board

Community activist Ashfaq Syed of Chicagoland was appointed as the President of Naperville Public Library Board on July 19,  2023.

“I take this opportunity to thank the Board of Trustees of the Library for their confidence and trust in me to carry this important responsibility,” Syed is quoted saying in a press release, adding that he would help take the Naperville Publc Library to greater heights and, towards this, he would work to conceptualize and execute multiple innovative initiatives.

Syed thanked the outgoing President, Jeanine O’Meara, for her excellent leadership and great service on the Naperville Public Library Board. He also thanked Dave Della Terza, Executive Director and staff for their excellent work.

Others also appointed to the Naperville Public Library Board include Nancy Hayes as Vice President, and Nick Guo as Secretary.“

According to Syed, Naperville Public Library has been named the No. 1 Public Library in the U.S. in 100,000 – 250,000 population category for the last 10 years and had been a beacon of pride to the entire community.

Well-known for his community work, Syed has also been associated with many non profit organizations in Chicago and Naperville area, the press release said.
