Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi join forces for Jolly LLB 3

Change of casting for the same characters is not common in sequels. When Golmaal Returns was launched, Shreyas Talpade replaced Sharman Joshi as one of the key characters, Laxman. Reports then suggested that the replaced actor had some issues with the filmmakers, leading to his exit. Since then, Shreyas has been a consistent feature in Golmaal 3 and Golmaal Again.

Jolly LLB, which featured Arshad Warsi in the title-role, was a 2013 satire that did decent business. A mild controversy happened when Akshay Kumar was cast in its sequel, Jolly LLB 2, by director Subhash Kapoor. Arshad made wry remarks to the media about their respective market-standings, while Akshay, then on a gravy-train with consecutive hits, merely stated why he liked the role.

But now, Subhash Kapoor has ignited curiosity by signing both of them for the next installment in the franchise, Jolly LLB 3!

Akshay took to his social media platform to announce the Jolly LLB 3 filming through a hilarious video. Akshay captioned the video, “Ab original kaun aur duplicate kaun, yeh toh pata nahi (I do not know who is the original Jolly and who is the duplicate). But this sure is going to be a jolly good ride!! Stay with us. Jai Mahakaal”

In Jolly LLB 3, Akshay Kumar steps into the shoes of the quirky lawyer Jolly, known for his unorthodox methods and witty comebacks. The film pits him against another Jolly, portrayed by Arshad Warsi. Their courtroom battles promise to be both hilarious and thought-provoking.

Saurabh Shukla reprises his role as the no-nonsense judge, adding to the film’s star-studded cast. The chemistry between Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi is expected to be a highlight, as they spar over legal cases and engage in comical confrontations.

Huma Qureshi, who played Akshay’s love interest, is also in the cast of the film. However, Amrita Rao, who was cast opposite Arshad in the first film, barely works now and it is not known whether she will be added to the cast.

Akshay has been having a series of unsuccessful movies of late, and Jolly LLB 3 might be the dark horse that sets right his erratic present record. One of these movies, Bachchhan Paandey (2022) has been Arshad’s last release on the big screen.
