Aditya Roy Kapur is headlining the ambitious remake of the critically-acclaimed The Night Manager, which will mark the actor’s OTT debut. The Hindi adaptation of the acclaimed British series was to originally feature Hrithik Roshan, no less.

Aditya had been keen to find the right content to explore in the OTT space, where actors as varied as Bobby Deol, Abhishek Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi have already made their marks and Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn and Shahid Kapoor are now set to enter.

The original BBC serial directed by Susanne Bier and starring Tom Hiddleston, Hugh Laurie, Olivia Colman, Tom Hollander, David Harewood and Elizabeth Debicki  was based on the 1993 novel of the same name by John le Carré, which was adapted to the present day by David Farr as a six-part series seven years ago. It was nominated for 36 awards and won 11, including three Golden Globe Awards for Tom Hiddleston, Hugh Laurie and Olivia Colman.

While Aditya plays Hiddleston’s character of Jonathan Pike, an ex-British soldier who works as a night manager at a luxury hotel, there is unconfirmed buzz that Anil Kapoor is in talks for the role of Hugh Laurie, an arms dealer posing as a business tycoon. Anil and Aditya had come together in the 2020 film Malang.

Sandeep Modi directs the spy series, which will be shot on a large scale. Actress Preity Zinta is producing the remake in collaboration with Banijay Asia. She last produced the feature film Ishqk In Paris released in 2013.
