The BAFTA-nominated and Oscar-shortlisted thriller SANTOSH is set to make its U.S. debut in major cities this Friday, January 31. While the film is currently prohibited from releasing in India, American audiences will have the chance to experience this gripping and socially charged story in cinemas across the country.

Directed and written by Sandhya Suri, SANTOSH explores themes of justice, caste, and corruption in rural Northern India. The film follows Santosh, a young widow who assumes her late husband’s job as a police constable to support herself. Under the mentorship of an experienced female inspector, Santosh delves into the brutal murder of a low-caste girl, confronting a complex moral landscape of crime and systemic dysfunction.
