The first look poster of Aliya Basu Gayab Hai, featuring Vinay Pathak, Raima Sen and Salim Diwan, is out and this film is poised to release on August 9.

The first look promises a thriller that delves into flawed characters and their selfish desires. The film is written by Gibran Noorani from a story by J. Blakeson and is in all likelihood based on his story, The Disappearance of Alice Creed, a 2009 Hollywood film.

Producer Dr. Sattar Diwan said, “My sole aim as a producer and filmmaker is to entertain audiences. With Aliya Basu Gayab Hai, I am reuniting with the versatile actress Raima Sen after my 2016 film, Bollywood Diaries, and I am also working with Vinay Pathak for the first time. Both the actors and Salim Diwan, who also worked on Bollywood Diaries, have done brilliantly in the film, and we at Rehab Pictures have designed a thrilling experience specifically for the big screen that offers shocking twists and turns.”

Producer Jonu Rana echoed, “We have spared no effort in making an entertaining and thrilling spectacle for audiences.”

Salim Diwan, incidentally, was also seen in Ankur Arora Murder Case. For Vinay Pathak, it is a double bill as his series, Life Hill Gayi, is also streaming from the same date.

Director Preeti Singh, who previously directed a short film, The Lovers, added, “This is my first feature film, which makes it a very special project for me. As a director, I’ve always dreamed of creating a film like this for big-screen audiences. Thanks to the incredible team and lead cast, we are finally bringing the most thrilling film of the season. What sets this film apart is its writing, and I am confident that audiences will enjoy watching it as much as we enjoyed making it.”
