Alumni of LD College of Engineering, celebrate Diwali in Virginia

Alumni of the India-based L D College of Engineering, living in the greater Washington, D.C. area, celebrated Diwali Saturday, November 9, at Reservoir Park in Ashburn, Virginia.

Everyone participated in the activities, enjoying freshly made Gujarati savory dishes, Gota, Khaman, Mathia, and a variety of Diwali sweets along with flavorful tea.

Former students recalled their time at LD College, exchanging stories about life in the hostel, friends, and professors, as well as the surrounding eateries such as the college canteen, Ishwar and Ruturaj’s Kitlis, Vada Pav, Maska Bun, and Chana Chor Garam.

Attendees went for a short hike, and the festivities strengthened the bonds forged in college, bringing everyone closer, organizers said.

The L D College of Engineering Alumni Association (LAA), noted the event and admired the efforts made by the Washington, D.C. group. LAA circulated event pictures through its social media accounts.

Additional events for the upcoming year are being discussed, organizers said, urging any former LD College of Engineering students to join the Washington DC group by contacting Kartik Patel (703 340-9520), Pranav Chokshi (201 450-7867) or Dipesh Modi (571 216-5061).
