Indian Seniors of Chicago celebrate Diwali with musical program

Indian seniors of Chicago celebrated their annual function and Diwali at Manav Seva Mandir in Bensenville, Illinois on October 26, 2024. Around 430 members and guests attended the event which was organized by Bhupendra Suthar and Daxa Parikh.

Panna Shah, Executive Board member provided details about the history of ISC for the last 24 years. Guests of honor Dahya Prajapati, chairman of Manav Seva Mandir Trustee board, Raju Chauhan, president Manav Seva Mandir, Bhailal Patel of Desi Talk in Chicago, Shirish Patel, Narsinh Patel, Rohit Joshi, Ishwar Patel and Dilip Patel were invited on stage for Deep pragtya, the lamp-lighting ceremony.

Daxa Parikh and Panna Shah honored the singers and musicians with gifts and flowers.

Prajapati detailed Manav Seva Mandir programs and spoke about how minorities were being treated in Bangladesh, and the need to raise funds to help victims there. Dilip Patel and Raju Chauhan wished everyone a Happy Diwali, and honored guests were presented bouquets.

Daxa Parikh introduced the musical program, highlighted by the musical group – SAREGAMA, Some in the audience came to the floor to dance with the music.

A tea break was followed by the honoring of donors and sponsors by Navin Patel and Kanti Patel. The singers and performers were also honored with flowers.
