Indian Seniors of Chicago (ISC) celebrates Ganesh Mahotsav

The General Meeting of Indian Seniors of Chicago brought 320 members together on Saturday, September 14, 2024, to Mahalakshmi Hall of Manav Seva Mandir.

Bhupendra Suthar gave information about the Chicago temple tour that started October 5. Treasurer Hemant Modi presented the account of income and expenditure for August. He also announced the names of donors.
Members whose birthdays fall in the month of September, were called out and wished for their special day, and the song, ‘Bar Baar Ye Din Aye Tum Jivo Hazara Saal’ was sung by the group.

Those members who had passed away were remembered with a two-minute prayer.    Manu Shah gave details of various services of Hira Patel. Chandrakant Patel spoke about attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh.

The Ganesha festival was celebrated with great fanfare. Ganesha idol was paraded in Mahalakshmi Hall in which many senior men participated. Chants of ‘Ganapati Bapa Moria’ and ‘Jai Shri Ganesh’ chants filled the hall. Ganesha aarti was performed by several members, and prasad was given to everyone.
Bhadra Shah sang a bhajan. Kanti Patel, vice president of the organization, introduced the Manav Sadhana Kendra Ahmedabad leader Viren Joshi.
