Bollywood glamour meets local talent at Indo-American Fair in New Jersey

Mercer Count Park in New Jersey welcomed thousands of visitors from the tri-state area, streaming in over two days August 31 to September 1, 2024, to enjoy the annual Indo American Fair.

This year Bollywood glamour met local excellence, organizers said in a press release, which credited the Rajesh and Arun Anand family with the initiative.

The Fair, which is free and open to all, has become a hallmark event, celebrating community, diversity, culture, and local talent. This year’s fair featured a diverse range of booths boosting local businesses offering food, clothing, jewelry, services like banking, mortgages, and insurance. Among the best sellers in fashion were “kurti” tops, silk sarees, scarfs, stoles, handicrafts, bags, jewelry, bangles, diamond jewelry, one-gram gold jewelry and much more.

One of the major highlights was special guest Bollywood actress Ameesha Patel who energized the audience with her dance moves, and delighted attendees when she presented trophies and plaques to the Fair’s sponsors and supporters.

Thousands of visitors came during the two days of the Indo American Fair 2024 in Mercer County, where dozens of vendors had booths selling everything from food, clothes and jewelry to financial services, Aug. 31-Sept. 1, 2024.

“We are thrilled with the overwhelming response to this year’s Indo American Fair,” Rajesh Anand is quoted saying in the press release, adding, “Our goal has always been to provide a platform that brings the community together while supporting local businesses and artists.” He described it as an “incredible turnout and a fantastic display of talent, culture, and community spirit.” The Anand family, expressed their gratitude to all sponsors, participants, and attendees for their support in making the event such a success.

Organizers say the Fair continues to grow in scope and impact, and promise that next year’s event will be even bigger and better.

Presented by Business NJ, the event featured many leading dance schools of New Jersey performing popular classical dances like Bihu, Odissi, Bharatnatyam, Kuchipudi and Kathak, as well as Carnatic music, live DJ and singing by well known local artists in the South Asian community.

“The Fair aimed at promoting understanding and appreciation of India’s rich culture, craft and culinary arts,” organizers said, and promoting local businesses and local talent. Vendors from different states, as well as from Canada and India participated, the press release said.

Major sponsors of Indo American Fair 2024 were RK Jewels, New York Life, Horizon BCBS, Radio Mirchi, Parikh Worldwide Media/ITV Gold, Lemfi, Vilux Roses, Curry Zone, Cinestar, Business NJ, Aaj Tak, among many others.
