Scores of seniors enjoyed the annual Summer Picnic of the Indo-American Seniors Association of Clifton, NJ, (iasaofclifton.org) held recently, .

According to organizers close to 400 people attended the picnic which was held in the idyllic setting at the Garret Mountain Boat House in Woodland Park near the lake. Bharat Rana, president of IASA is quoted saying in the press release that the picnic helped reduce stress and anxiety, and brought a sense of rejuvenation to those able to come.

Bollywood songs played in the background as attendees feasted on the meals served throughout the day.

Beginning with hot appetizers like Dal vada, upma, jalebis with Indian Tea and Coffee, made the morning meal.

Lunch followed later, starting with Sev, Gujarati Khichhu, and cold lemonade and ice cream.

The picnic concluded with a dinner of Mango Ras, puri, patra, vegetable Shak, Khichdi, Kadhi, Papadam, and pickles.

Activities continued through the day with games like bingo, and musical chairs, as well as garba dancing with live music, raffles, etc.

Among the public officials who attended were NJ State Assemblywoman Rosy Bagoli, and Clifton City Mayor Ray Grabowski. Also present were Founder and CEO of World Vegan Vision H. K. Shah, Board of Directors Rohit Shah, Anand Patel, Mahesh Dubal, Parsippanny Rotarian Rajendra Dichpally, Bridgewater Seniors Association President Suryakant Shah, and Bipin Parekh, president of Gujarati Samaj.

Rana thanked donors, supporters and well wishers on behalf of IASA trustees and the executive committee, for making it a successful event.
