The ‘National India Hub Foundation’ in the heart of Greater Chicago in Schaumburg, was officially inaugurated on June 15, 2024, by distinguished guests including Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi, D-Illinois, former Consul General of India Dr. Ausaf Sayeed, current Consul General of India in Chicago Somnath Ghosh, Founding Chairman of National India Hub Harish Kolasani, local elected officials, and representatives from over 45 service organizations.

Organizers said in the press release that it was the world’s largest Indian community center, housing more than 60 organizations dedicated to serving the community, offering a wide range of services, including preventive healthcare, mental health support, aid for domestic abuse survivors, support for sexual assault victims, free CPR training, personality development, assistance for international students, business networking opportunities through chambers, diverse educational programs for children, skill development programs for adults, cultural activities, art classes, affordable halls for community and private events, recreational activities for seniors and youth, and more.

“All these initiatives are fueled by the dedication of our 355 passionate volunteers, making our hub a beacon of community empowerment,” the press release said.

Consul General of India in Chicago Somnath Ghosh ji announced to have regular OCI Camps at INDIA HUB in the presence of Ambassador Dr. Ausaf Sayeed, Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi, Founding Chairman of National India Hub Mr. Harish Kolasani, Mayor Rodney Craig, Dr. Srini Reddy, Dr. Vemuri Murthy, Founding Members Salil K. Misra, Om Dhingra, K.K.Reddy, Deepthi Karlapudi, Usha Shedge and many community members.

During his speech, Kolasani, along with other community leaders, expressed gratitude to Consul General Somnath Ghosh for announcing weekly Consular Camps for OCI applications at the easily accessible location.

INDIA HUB has partnered with numerous service organizations, including government agencies, to implement impactful permanent projects. It will also host monthly Mega programs like the Mega Health Camps with multiple specialists, Mega Job Fairs, Monthly Blood Drives, Consulate camps twice a month, a legal clinic once a month, an immigration clinic twice a month, multiple business support chamber offices to help small and medium business owners, skill development programs, senior care, matrimony services, and more.

In addition, INDIA HUB is in the process of receiving a Guinness World Record for housing the highest number of service organizations under one roof and is also working on installing the world’s largest permanent Indian flag outside India, according to Kolasani.

During this launch, several projects were introduced by INDIA HUB and its partner organizations, including the US India Chamber of Commerce Chicago Chapter, INDIA HUB Community Health & CPR Training Center by Chicago Medical Society with a goal of saving over a million lives through free CPR training, the State of Illinois – South Asian Chamber of Commerce branch, Legal Clinic, Immigration Clinic, Mental Health Support Center, Domestic Abuse Support Center, Senior recreation in a 22,000 sq ft area, Recreation Center (featuring 45 Carrom boards, 20 Table Tennis tables, 20 Chess sets, 3 Billiards tables, etc.) to encourage spending time away from screens and with family and friends, cubicles for 60 service organizations, and several conference rooms and event halls.

“The vision of NATIONAL INDIA HUB is to replicate this innovative and impactful community center in all major cities across the United States to serve the community without borders,” the press release said.
