Murder most foul: Suspect in triple homicide in New Jersey arrested

Om Brahmbhatt, a 23-year-old South Plainfield, New Jersey, man, has been arrested for a triple homicide.  On Monday, November 27, at around 9 am, officers responded to the call at a condominium complex on Coppola Drive, according to a Middlesex County press release.

According to the article, the officers found Om Brahmbhatt’s grandparents, 72 year old Dilipkumar Brahmbhatt and 72 year old Bindu Brahmbhatt, and pronounced them deceased at the scene due to gunshot wounds. Om Brahmbhatt’s uncle, Yashkumar Brahmbhatt, also sustained multiple gunshot wounds and passed away at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in New Brunswick later that day, an nj.com news report said.

As stated by the article, Brahmbhatt appeared virtually before Middlesex County Superior Court Judge Colleen Flynn where officials said he’ll remain in Middlesex County Adult Correctional Center.  On Friday, December 1, Judge Flynn ruled that his case will go before a grand jury.   Brahmbhatt allegedly said, “it might be me” while discussing the case with officials.

According to CBS, no motive for the murders has been found, but the police do not believe this was a random incident.  Middlesex County’s Prosecutor’s Office has determined that there is no public threat.

Brahmbhatt lived with the victims and was found at the house.  Officers found a firearm holster and a gun at the house, nj.com reported.  The accused told the officers he bought the gun online.
