An Action Hero has red carpet trailer preview

Colour Yellow Productions and T-Series had recently released the official poster of An Action Hero that took the internet by storm in no time. The poster added to the curiosity of all the fans and has been receiving a great response. On November 10, the makers hosted a unique and first-ever red carpet for the film’s trailer preview. Present at the preview were the lead actors of the film Ayushmann Khurrana and Jaideep Ahlawat (the film has no heroine), director Anirudh Iyer and producers Aanand L. Rai, Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar.

Ayushmann made an entry in a swanky car, while Jaideep and him raised the heat with their intense encounters in their cars, giving a glimpse of their characters in the film. Touted to give a twist to each genre, Ayushmann picks action this time.

An Action Hero is slated to hit the big screen on December 2. Ayushmann in the past has called it one of his best films to date, and betted on this film to emerge as a much-needed hit for him. He stated that he had done a different kind of film this year, also with T-Series, in Anek, but that was a totally different kind of approach.

Speaking informally to this writer, he stated that this film had no message or secret agenda, but he had chosen it to provide just larger-than-life entertainment. He smiled when I mentioned that for his first hardcore entertainment drama, he ironically had no heroine opposite him. He also said that now he is looking at a broader choice in his movies.

Earlier, producer Aanand L. Rai had stated that his first action film (apart from his 2007 thriller debut, Strangers) was simply because he connected to the story. But he said that it was much more than a mere action drama. He also said that the film was an action drama but with a twist, and that explained his choice of Ayushmann. However, he had to be after Jaideep for weeks to persuade him, as Jaideep was having a busy schedule.

Director Anirudh Iyer, who makes his debut, said that the film was narrated through his two protagonists, and while conventionally they could be termed hero and villain, each of them had their perspective and thought that they were right in their actions. The idea was not to judge them (which would make the approach biased) but to present their viewpoints. Earlier in the day, Ayushmann posted on Instagram, “The bad guy enters the chat! Heartbeat intensifies.”

Bhushan Kumar stated the film had great songs (we hope, sir!), but true to current norms, the composer has not even been announced.

Meanwhile, the team accepted the scoop that Akshay Kumar will be seen in a cameo role in this action thriller. Akshay has already shot for an important appearance in the film, thanks to his great equation with both Aanand L. Rai and Bhushan Kumar.
