Amazon, Rohit Shetty & Sidharth Malhotra join for action series

Sidharth Malhotra gets the honor and privilege of joining India’s first cop universe—that of ace director Rohit Shetty!—as his leading man in Amazon Prime Video’s new and most ambitious action series. The previous supercops he has given the nation are Singham (Ajay Devgn), Simmba (Ranveer Singh) and Sooryavanshi (Akshay Kumar).

While buzz was there for a while about Sidharth joining hands with Shetty (who, reportedly, also wants an actress too to join the universe for the big screen!), it is now confirmed that this series, titled Indian Police Force, will be an eight-part high-octane action show that marks the digital debut of not just Sidharth but also one of India’s most accomplished filmmakers— Rohit Shetty himself.

And this son of the late legendary stunt coordinator and actor Shetty is known for his big-ticket mass entertainers from comic blockbusters to his police-based extravaganzas—the Singham franchise, Simmba and 2021’s biggest hit, Sooryavanshi.

The series will present Sidharth Malhotra in a never-before-seen avatar and is currently under production. This is a milestone collaboration between Amazon Prime Video and Rohit Shetty Picturez, and aims to create a new benchmark for streaming series in India. The fiction series proudly pays an ode to the selfless service, unconditional commitment and fierce patriotism of our police officers across the country. These souls put everything on the line in their call of duty to keep Indians safe.

Indian Police Force also aims to set a new bar for action content emerging from India for audiences worldwide. With a global release, viewers in 240 countries and territories will experience an immersive cop universe story coming from India and rooted in Indian values.
