After playing the fun and relatable characters in several films, and making his debut as the lead in Helmet (2021), a film on the use of condoms, Aparshakti Khurana is thrilled about his next project in a lead role. This film, Berlin, is with filmmaker Atul Sabharwal (who directed Aurangzeb and wrote movies like Darna Mana Hai and My Wife’s Murder), which he says, will pleasantly surprise the audience. The suspense thriller will feature Aparshakti as a sign language expert for the deaf and mute.

The versatile actor stated, “New day, new challenge. Berlin is a project that had me supremely excited since day one—purely because of what it brings to the table for me as an actor. Playing someone like a sign language expert in a thriller is exactly among the kind of work I had been looking forward to doing for a very long time. I will be soon starting to learn and take classes to learn sign language. It will be an extensive training and workshops with an expert and I want to make sure I do the needful to learn it in detail.”

Talking about the director of this film, Aparshakti adds, “Atul expects you to be in top form with respect to the energy you bring to the set. It’s amazing to see his conviction towards his writing and direction.”

The audience will recall that Yash Raj Films’ Aurangzeb had terrific turns by Rishi Kapoor, Amrita Singh, Jackie Shroff and Arjun Kapoor, and the latter had played a dual role in that different thriller.

Aparshakti has impressed us in films like Dangal, Badrinath Ki Dulhania, Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi, Stree, Luka Chhupi and Bala.
