A good and a bad person may not be able to strike friendship—but they can be brothers!

With this premise, Disney+Hotstar dropped the trailer with its twin drama series, Hotstar Specials’ Bad Cop. Produced by Fremantle India, directed by Aditya Datt and written by Rensil D’Silva, the series is a complete mass entertainer and is set to stream exclusively on the platform, June 21 onwards.

Bad Cop has been re-imagined for India by Fremantle India from RTL’s original German drama of the same name. Saurabh Sachdeva, who impressed everyone with his impressive acting as villain in Animal, is now gearing up to play police officer, ACP Arif Sheikh, here. Both roles are unique and completely different from each other, showcasing his versatility as an actor.

Talking about the same, Saurabh said, “Moving from my character in Animal to that of a cop in this series was fascinating. Each character faces its own set of difficulties and learning curves. As an actor, it’s thrilling to handle these various parts while remaining real to each one. Playing an officer required me to have a more disciplined and strong attitude. It was a sharp contrast to my previous work, and that variety is what made acting such a rewarding career for me. This is the third time audiences will see me in a positive role, and I truly enjoyed it.”

Saurabh is also an acting coach, who started his film career in Maroon, which was released in 2016. He received critical acclaim for his character of Suleiman Isa in the Netflix series Sacred Games in 2018.

In 2017, Saurabh founded his own education and training institute, The Actors Truth, and theatre group Antarang in Mumbai. He has trained an array of stars including Rana Daggubati, Harshvardhan Rane, Freida Pinto, Varun Dhawan, Raghav Juyal, Akshay Oberoi, Arjun Mathur, Kubbra Sait, Richa Chadha, Dulquer Salmaan, Tripti Dimri, Avinash Tiwary, Arjun Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez, Vaani Kapoor, Asha Negi, Shakti Mohan, Rithvik Dhanjani, Shivam Patil, Adarsh Gourav and Mandana Karimi.

He has already appeared in Manmarziyan, Housefull 4. Good Luck Jerry and was seen as an antagonist in Vadh. In 2016, he also directed a short film, Gul.
